Coach Bob lead the two teams in a rousing food stacking competition comprised of people from the three churches. While the San Francisco 49'ers lost the Super Bowl, the San Francisco team won by a box of cereal!
Carol Kron made the football verses with the Tootsie pops and it was the 30th year of the Souper Bowl of Caring. All in all, there were 130.8 pounds in food donations and $112.00 in cash donations.
Bring canned tuna, fruit cans (pears and peaches the best), spaghetti noodles, and dry non sugary cereal (although “Sugar Pops are tops!”) per the Food Resource Center request. Jerseys encouraged. CONTEST FOR 2 MINUTE WARNING: four volunteers will stack cans and boxes for two minutes to see who can stack it the highest. A SUPER PRIZE WILL BE AWARDED! (Rules: The Instant Replay Committee’s decisions will be final—they will be in New York per NFL requirements out of harm’s way…of course, contestants will be filmed and all images may be shared on social media and be the sole and exclusive property of Grace, Holbrook, and Pine Creek United Methodist Churches). Coffee hour will follow when the Service Clock runs out.
