May the road rise to meet you and may the wind be always at your back. Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Creating Space for God-this week our focus is finding God in nature. We have often heard or talked about the idea that nature reveals who God is. The Psalmist writes in Psalms 19:1 The heavens are telling the glory of God; and the firmament proclaims his handiwork There are many things that nature can teach us. Nature can teach us that there is beauty in the small things, that everything is connected – that each little piece is a part of the whole and that each little piece has a part to play. Here is one spiritual practice to help you find God in nature. Reading a Psalm in nature. Take a small Bible with you and set out to a place in nature. A park bench, your patio, even sitting by a picture window with a view. When you arrive at the place you feel led, spend a few moments in silence. Then read Psalms 19 out loud (or you can pick another Psalm if you like). When you are finished reflect or journal on the following two questions:
1. What spoke to you in the Psalms? 2. What does the nature that surrounds you reveal to you about the Creator? May the sun shine warm on your face this day!
