Hello! I’m back in Livingston! I travelled 10,960 miles in my car plus flying to Kauai and back. I put my toes in the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean. I hiked all over and encountered all kinds of wildlife. I connected with friends from elementary school, high school, church youth group, college, and beyond. I also spent wonderful time with extended family. And the last month and a half I didn’t even open my laptop. My heart is renewed, and my spirit is refreshed. I look forward to re-connecting with each of you. For the rest of July, we will have Zoom and in-person worship at Holbrook each week. We will soon communicate our worship schedule for August and beyond as we consider how best to emerge from the pandemic. We have a unique opportunity to re-start in ways that are more sustainable and lead us forward.
This week my sermon is, “It’s Not Rocket Science,” as I reflect on my time off and re-engaging in ministry. Henri Nouwen will help us as we reflect on living as followers of Jesus in the 21st century. Parish Council will meet this Sunday following worship at Holbrook to continue to think creatively about our worship schedule and life together.
