Soup's on

Dear friends in faith,
Our Easter worship services were beautiful. The Spirit of God is alive in all of our churches! My Easter sermon is attached, if you want to read or share it.

This week, I am on vacation enjoying the sights of St. George, Utah. I’ve been hiking and encountering desert wildlife; Mojave Desert Tortoise, Roadrunner, Spadefoot Toad, and lots of lizards. And I’m warming up my heart and soul at the poolside. Thursday I head to Zion National Park! God’s creation is so amazing! As I have been hiking the beautiful desert flowers have caught my eye. The pops of bright color amidst the browns, creams, and reds of the desert. I found this verse of Isaiah, that links the Utah spring with the Montana spring. Isaiah 35:1-2 says:

 The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad,
    the desert shall rejoice and blossom;
like the crocus 2 it shall blossom abundantly,
    and rejoice with joy and singing.
Flowers, whether they are prickly pear blossoms or crocus are sparks of joy that offer us hope.
 
Worship
·  This Sunday, April 24th, all four churches are gathering for Soup and Scripture at Grace UMC (9th and Clark) at 11:00am. Soup will be provided. You all bring your favorite scripture.
·  Next Sunday, May 1st, I will begin my sermon series on “What Does the Bible Say About…?” Worship will be at 8:00 at Grace, 9:30 at Pine Creek and Zoom, 11:00 at Holbrook. Here is the Zoom info: Meeting ID: 794 678 137 Passcode: hopelives.
 
Current Small Group opportunities:
·  Men’s Group All are welcome to join this lively gathering of men who discuss books and topics of the day. Join on Wednesdays at noon at Grace UMC.
·   Women’s Small Group meets on Wednesday evenings at 5:30. They meet in the chapel at Holbrook UMC. Newcomers are always welcome.
 
Luccock Park Summer Camps
Luccock will have summer camps this year for Senior High, Middlers, and Elementary youth! Registration opens April 1st. We will provide scholarships for any youth we recruit.
